What makes Therapy House Calls unique:

It is a little known fact, that Medicare B allows its beneficiaries to receive outpatient services in their home, ie: a house call. Unlike home health care services, patients are NOT required to be homebound. Services are always done one on one, and rendered by a licensed physical therapist. Care is never delegated to another therapist or assistant.

I generally work with men and women over the age of 65, or with those with disabilities. I treat people who have had surgery, and/or patients with various orthopaedic, neurological, or medical conditions, including being able to successfully work with patients with dementia.

All services must be prescribed by a physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner. Orders may be faxed to 303-751-6169. Patients cannot be under a current home health episode of care.

I work with patients within their residence, living in the Denver Metro area, whether that is a home, senior apartment, or assisted living facility.

Individual sessions typically last one hour, and are tailored to each individual's needs. The frequency of treatment varies from 1-3x/week, and the duration varies from a one time visit, to 12 weeks. This is all determined from findings upon initial evaluation, and by how long it will take to meet our collaborative goals.

Payment for Services:

Therapy House Calls, LLC a Medicare B Provider. Medicare B typically pays 80% of services, and a supplemental insurance usually covers the remaining 20%. Some Medicare Advantage Plans will cover these services. Insurance billing is done for you. Private Pay is also accepted.

Thorough written documentation is done with each session, and sent to your physician at the beginning of the episode of care, at the end, and in between as needed. Coordination of care is done as well, with any other disciplines involved.

Biography

Kelly Shanahan, P.T.

Kelly Shanahan, a licensed physical therapist in the state of Colorado, is the founder, sole owner, and rendering physical therapist of Therapy House Calls, LLC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy with Distinction Degree, from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, in 1990. She has 3+ decades of experience working with a variety of diagnoses, including orthopaedic, neurological, and general medical conditions. Through the years, she has taken multiple continuing education courses, expanding her knowledge on the treatments of these conditions. Kelly has spent the last 25 years working in geriatrics, which she considers her specialty. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family. She also really loves to travel, especially internationally!

I work for myself for many reasons, but the biggest reason, is that it allows me to work from the heart. I listen to your specific needs, come up with a unique treatment plan for you, and decide what we do based on your needs, not mine. There are no corporate rules I must follow, no bottom line I must meet. I come from a place of compassion, and commit to doing my very best to improve your current situation.
